Stop lying to yourself. Stop pretending. Judge not. Walk your talk. Be honest with yourself and others. Clean up your thoughts. Be your impeccable best, for true power arises from the courageous heart of compassion. These simple but uncompromising messages from Jaguar are a great challenge to us all. Painting Jaguar was a step toward taking back my own power and becoming the authentic being that I Am. I also found Jaguar to be a strict and forceful teacher, at times wondering if I was capable of surviving Jaguar’s lessons. To quote Jamie Sams Medicine Cards, “Jaguar’s mission is to devour the unclean aspects of human behavior”. And that it has done and continues to do. The other important message of this fine ally is that of humility. Again to quote Sams, “Do not feed any self-important need to be an ‘enlightened one’, treating others in a self-righteous manner….remember, personal integrity allows for mistakes, embraces forgiveness and humbly makes self-directed corrections allowing a rebalanced spirit to triumph once again”. This painting reminds me that having invited Jaguar medicine into my life, she is always watching!
