This beautiful being was created out of spontaneity and grace. Let me explain: The first step of my evocative process of painting involves spraying 300lb watercolor paper with acid free gold webbing spray. As the webbing falls in an uncontrolled fashion onto the pristine white paper, it gives the sense of the creative fabric of life and the interconnectivity of all things. I had planned a much larger work, but when this little Being popped into view, I knew that she was the gift in this process of letting go. Thus, here she is, barely enhanced to show off her whimsical nature. I love feeling her lightness, grace, balance, femininity and poise. As I feel her presence, I sense the effortless nature of life lived in the flow of the present moment. When I accept the spontaneous gifts of Spirit even the tiny ones (letting go of my egoic desires or preconceived plans), often beauty and freedom arise as sister gifts, perhaps offered by the wee companion just above her. When I let myself feel Spirit’s gifts as personally created for me out of the Divine’s love for me, my heart just naturally fills with the deepest gratitude and I am alive with a real sense of the magic and awe of life.
